The Christian Clown Ministry will be in the area this Saturday to hold a workshop and show at the Living Word Church located on the N. Service Rd. near the I-44 Leasburg exit.
They have visited the local libraries in Bourbon, Cuba and St. James, and now they are coming to town to provide family fun for everyone. Bessy Lou, Mr. Genius, Bebe the Clown and Mr. Sunshine will be visiting to teach the art of clowning. In addition, magician and ventriloquist, Rick Henson, will also be on hand to give lessons on how to “vent”.
A workshop will be held starting Saturday at noon. Face painting, puppet making and puppeteering, skit writing and balloon art will be taught at a cost of $25. Henson will perform magic and a ventriloquist act starting at 7 p.m.
The Christian Clown Ministry is excited to invite those of all ages to the workshop and show. The adult entry into the show is $5 and children under 12 get in for free.
The Christian Clown Ministry is based out of Cuba with 15 members. The organization is working toward a one-year anniversary in November and is always looking to grow.
The group meets every third Tuesday of each month at the First Baptist Church in Cuba. For more information about the organization and the upcoming event, call Gene and Louise Ray at (573) 885-3251.
