The Booster Club Annual Easter Egg Hunt proved to be a good time despite the cold weather. The event was held in the Bourbon City Park on Sat., Mar. 22 at noon.
Children up to 10 years of age were ready and raring to hunt for the goodies that the Easter Bunny left behind. This year there were 2,000 eggs to hunt, which was a 400-egg increase from last year. Event organizer and Booster Club member, Jenny MacDonald said, “The candy is good this year. There’s chocolate.”
MacDonald also explained that something was done differently with this year’s hunt. Children who did not find a full basket of eggs could receive extra eggs that were set aside.
For the turnout, there were not as many children as there was last year; even though, the 2007 egg hunt was held on a much colder day (29 degrees compared to Saturday’s 37 degree weather). The sun still managed to make an appearance as the countdown began.
All in all, the kids seemed to have loads of fun as they ran around the park collecting the eggs. MacDonald stated, “I really enjoy doing this. It’s a lot of fun. I just can’t believe we spend so much time putting it all together and it’s over within 10 minutes.”
