Toy Drive Underway With Donations Trickling In, You Can Help Thursday
The Sullivan Fire Department, Missouri Baptist Ambulance, KTUI/Fidelity Channel 6 and the Sullivan Independent News are once again sponsoring the Meramec Community Mission Toy Drive, which this year will help over 400 children.
Sullivan fire chief, Rich White, reported that donations are slowly trickling in and this Thursday the department is asking everyone to turn out for their open house breakfast at Station One in downtown Sullivan.
“Every month we hold an open house breakfast at the firehouse with St. Anthony Parish serving biscuits and gravy,” said White. “We have accepted donations during the breakfast each month and have collected over $900, so far, this year for the toy drive and look for a big turnout this Thursday for our last open house of the year. Anyone wanting to bring by a donation for the toy drive can do it anytime.”
Toy drive drop off locations will be: Bank of Sullivan, First Community National Bank, First State Bank, Peoples Bank, Fidelity, KTUI Radio, Sullivan Chamber, Missouri Baptist Ambulance shed, Sullivan Independent News and Sullivan Fire House Station One.
Cash donations may be dropped off at any of the toy drive collection sites and also may be made by mailing them to: Meramec Community Mission Toy Drive, P.O. Box 475, Sullivan, MO 63080.
The toy drive will conclude on Dec. 17. Anyone seeking more information may do so by calling 573-468-6161.
