St. Anthony Students Attend Strain-Japan School
Most schools in Missouri teach the state’s history in 4th grade. So, it was with excitement and a thirst for knowledge that on Friday, September 19, 2008 the 4th graders from St. Anthony responded to an invitation from Strain-Japan School to participate in their Missouri History Days.
The many booths held wondrous information and displays about many aspects of Missouri’s past. The students were able to make butter, arrowheads, and replicas of boats. They also enjoyed petting many animals and observing how laborious farming and lumbering could be in the “old” days. There were many old tools and clothing from the past also on display.
We brought kettle corn back to eat as a special treat. It was a very enjoyable celebration of our state’s history. We can’t wait to partake of Strain-Japan’s graciousness again next year.
