Dan Terry’s New Ghost Book To Debut At Sullivan Art Fair
Stanton native, Dan Terry, has written a second ghost book which will make its debut at the Sullivan Art Fair on Sat., Oct. 4. The title is “Missouri Shadows: a journey through the lesser know, the famous and the infamous haunts of Missouri.”
Terry will be on hand at the Art Fair to sell and sign copies of his book. His favorite part of book signings is having the opportunity to talk to people about their paranormal experiences.
He will also be signing books at Scenic Regional Library in Union from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wed., Oct. 8 and at Scenic Regional Library in New Haven from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wed., Oct. 15.
Additional book signings are scheduled at the Washington Historical Society ghost tours on the evening of Tues., Oct. 28 and at the Washington IOOF Cemetery Tour, hosted by Marc Houseman, at 6 p.m. on Oct. 30.
“Missouri Shadows” includes 20 stories from various Missouri counties plus a special section on How to Ghost Hunt! The haunted places Terry covers include a bed and breakfast where Mark Twain stayed, diners, jails, battlefields, a school and other bed and breakfast establishments. Several stories are based in Franklin, Gasconade, Crawford, St. Charles and Jefferson counties, but some are farther away.
A regular contributor to Haunted Times magazine, Terry continues to bring his police background into play to search out the paranormal, utilizing police techniques and scientific equipment. In gathering material for his books, Terry researches the history of the site to learn what might have happened there to incite paranormal activity.
Haunted Times editor, Mark A. Mihalko, said of the book, “The stories inside are full of atmosphere, perfect for those brisk, windy nights where every sound is magnified by the silence.”
Pull your shades all the way down and prepare to take yet another terrifying journey with the Spookstalker as he shares stories of Missouri ghosts that you may agree deserve a place alongside The Headless Horseman.
Terry is a 1981 graduate of Sullivan High School and is the assistant police chief in New Haven.
“Missouri Shadows” is a 202-page soft cover book with lots of photographs. The publisher is Missouri Kid Press, based in Stanton, MO.
