Onondago Cave State Park near Leasburg will hold “The Earth Moves Under Our Feet,” in recognition of Earthquake Awareness Week on Feb. 2 and Feb. 9, from 10 a.m. until noon each day, in the park’s visitor center.
Both events are open to the public and there are no admission charges.
The visitor center opens at 10 a.m. with displays about earthquakes for visitors to explore. Then at 10:30 a.m., a video “Hidden Fury: The New Madrid Seismic Zone” will be shown.
A naturalist will present a program on the effects earthquakes have had on the land and human populations in the past, as well as earthquake preparedness which begins at 11 a.m.
