Orscheln Helps Clean Up The Environment
Orscheln Farm & Home is helping clean up the environment by collecting scrap batteries on Mar. 29 and 30. Scrap batteries are returned to a state-of-the-art recycling facility where 100 percent of the battery is recycled. Customers can bring any brand auto, marine, farm, truck or lawn and garden batteries in for recycling.
This is not a new program for Orscheln as the company has always recycled batteries when exchanged with a new battery purchase. However, it is the first time the company has offered to take junk batteries back without the purchase of a new battery.
As an incentive, Orscheln is offering a $5 gift card for each battery customers bring in without a limit (must bring in two lawn and garden batteries to get the $5 gift card).
Orscheln automotive buyer, Dwaine Skopec, stated, “We expect huge numbers of batteries to be returned this weekend and we are happy to be providing this service to the communities where our stores are located.”
The battery exchange is available at all of Orscheln’s 149 locations in nine states (Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Nebraska and Oklahoma) on Mar. 29 and 30.
